Well, Gladio had lost. Ain't much he could do about that. Gladio followed after the other, light on his feet up the stairs.

"You bring stuff, to keep this all clean?"

“Mmmmm no,” Noctis said with a shrug of a shoulder. He hadn’t thought that far. He had only thought of the exciting part and not what comes after it. “Don’t want to get the throne dirty?”

"No, not really. I'd really rather not get lectured for desecration of royal property."

“Little too late for that, isn’t it?” Noctis asked, smirking like a cat that had caught the canary. “Or do I need to remind you of all the things we’ve done together?” Noctis’ smirk just grew as he continued to climb the stairs.

"You're no one's property," Gladio corrected as he followed his prince. Once more into I imagined dangers. "So that's not a good point."

“I’m property of the throne,” Noctis corrected as they finally reached the throne. He paused in front of it, taking in what would be his seat one day. He frowned at that thought. “I’m property of the Lucis bloodline. I’m not a free person, Gladio. I don’t get to make my own choices.”
